Our Story
This started as a few phone calls between seniors and juniors.
It still is, mostly. We just made it easier for a student who doesn't happen to know a medical student to find one.
How it began
Rank Catalyst was founded by Dipak Patil, a farmer's son (शेतकरीपुत्र) who secured an MBBS seat at Lokmanya Tilak Municipal Medical College (LTMMC) & Sion Hospital, Mumbai.
Every one of our core members had a senior who picked up the phone. Someone who said “stop making timetables and start finishing chapters”, or “your Physics is not weak, your strategy is”. That advice was free, and it changed our results more than any book did.
We also noticed who got that advice: students who happened to know somebody. If nobody in your family or village has been through NEET, you spend years guessing, and the internet is happy to sell you a guess.
Rank Catalyst exists to close that gap. Nothing more complicated than that: an aspirant who needs honest guidance, matched with a medical student willing to give a few hours a month.

How Rank Catalyst is run
Rank Catalyst is run by volunteers. Mentors are medical students who give two to four hours a month. Coordinators handle matching and check-ins. We take no fees from students and no commissions from coaching institutes.
